Here's your host, Brandon Adam. So in a weird way, I love this time of year for shows.

My brain is just wired, weird, probably.

And it's not that I don't love the kind of in-season part of our experience here.

I love that, too.

But when you get to this time of year, early calendar year, pre-spring, and kind of the time in which sometimes the college football season,

the next one feels as far away as it's ever going to be. I think you get a chance to be,

I guess a little more stretch your legs. You have an opportunity to be a little bit more creative,

what you choose to talk about. There's just a little bit more freedom for the discussion you want to be able to have. And so if you don't mind for a couple of minutes here,

I want to try to exercise my freedom, given the fact that you can just sort of talk about whatever.

You've got the transfer portal winding down. You got, you know, the last remnants of a season taking

place with a national championship on Monday,

but you also are kind of at the doorstep of the following season, the upcoming season.

I sort of have that on my mind a little bit. So I want to kind of discuss that for a moment. I want

to sort of discuss it in what might be a slightly odd way. I want to talk for a moment about the 1998 Atlanta Braves. Now, everybody sort of knows the 98 Braves now because of the song by Morgan Wallin a couple years ago. And I'll admit, even though Morgan Wallen's kind of a Tennessee guy, I really felt like I sort of bonded with Morgan Wallin over this song and kind of became a little bit more of a Morgan Wallen fan than I had been before because that song really spoke to me. That was a season in my sporting fandom life that really shaped me. I was like, man, I'm glad that Morgan Wall and I kind of on the same page about this. And then I sort of did the math in my head. It was like, wait a second. Was Morgan Wallen even

alive when the night eight braves were taking place? I feel like this song, while it's meaningful

to me, I'm actually not quite so sure how meaningful this actually is to him in his own lived

experience. But either way, it's kind of nice to have memorialized in song a really disappointed postseason loss.
