Every year, we try to take a book and have a book discussion and hopefully

you've read this and are eagerly awaiting this conversation.

But our book this year is not an old classic. It's a new classic called Peace Like a River by Lafe Anger.

And I guess first of all, I'll just mention a couple things about this author.

This was his very first novel and he immediately was able to quit his job as a reporter and writer for Minnesota Public Radio.

It was wildly successful and I remember when it came out every book club announcement at the library was this book.

With good reason. Yeah, so he's from Osakis, Minnesota and if you're from Minnesota and I said that wrong, I apologize.
