Hello, everybody. Welcome to Crystal Call and Friends. This week, we are going to be focused on the, quote, unquote, one big, beautiful bill. And as we stand right now, it's about 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 3rd, looking like this thing at this

point is on a glide path to passage. So after Lisa Murkowski and everybody else on the

Republican side, save for Tom Tillis and Rand Paul caved, it got through the Senate, now it's

gone back to the House where it has to pass through again

because of the reconciliation process. Trump appears to have cajoled any of the reluctant

members, save for Thomas Massey, on his side in order to pass the rule to actually consider

this bill. So it's looking very much right now like this thing is going to go

through. And as you guys, I'm sure know, it is an absolute monstrosity. It is a massive tax cut for

the rich paid for by cuts to Medicaid that are going to kick 17 million Americans off of

their health insurance, dire cuts to snap as well. Horrifying attack

on energy production, specifically clean energy production, massive expansion of the security state

and the mass deportation apparatus. But the person who knows this bill, perhaps better than anyone,

who's been covering it so effectively from the beginning, is David Dan, he executive editor of the American Prospect, and he's going to join me for a

conversation to understand where we are politically, how we got to this place, and what the likely
