Hello and welcome to the Pink Bike podcast. I'm Alicia Legget and I'm here this week with Sarah

0:16.0

Moore and Mike Kazimer. This podcast episode is a pretty interesting one with some

0:20.5

incredible guests.

0:21.9

We cover what it's like to be both a high-level rider and an emergency responder, and then we

0:26.8

also touch on some pretty interesting stuff about my own injury recovery, so it was cool getting

0:32.5

to talk about where all those worlds overlap. But first, we're going to chat about the news.

0:39.2

Racing is back on right now, and we're seeing the Cape Epic for those who really love to suffer. The Cape Epic is a cross-country

0:46.2

stage race in South Africa, and riders have to race in pairs and finish within two minutes of each

1:19.1

super technical riding, but you can like have some pretty gnarly crashes because it's very

1:25.8

high speed and you're out in the middle of

1:28.5

nowhere and there's kind of the element of making sure your bike holds up as well as you and your

1:35.0

teammate all hold up. So yeah, it's a pretty exciting formatting. I mean, I don't know if it's that

1:42.8

exciting to watch this kind of racing,

1:45.8

but it is nice to like follow along with the results, I think, for myself.

1:51.7

Yeah, there's a lot to go into with kind of race analysis and figuring out how it all happened,

1:57.0

even if the racing really just looks like people peddling for a long time. Yeah,

2:01.6

yeah, it's definitely not as exciting as watching cross-country World Cup races, but you do see

...
