What I want to talk about today is something that I think is very important for any political

movement, but particularly on our side, which is a very important for any political movement, but particularly on our side, which is in some ways

a difficult political movement. Because generally what people on our side are talking about

is something that's abstract and not easy, and that's liberty.

Liberty, in contrast to what many people have said, is really not a natural condition.

Philosophers have spilled a lot of ink on this particular topic, And, you know, is man naturally free?

Or is man not naturally free?

I mean, how do you define liberty in a state of civilization?

And what you generally find with human history and human nature is that liberty is a difficult

thing to obtain and to hold even at the individual level internally

because it's not easy to be free. It takes a lot of work. You have to be continually thinking about liberty. And so man is naturally inclined to
