Welcome back to feeding the mouth that bites you, a weekly podcast guide on parenting teens and launching them into the world.

I'm Cynthia Yanov, and as always, I'm joined by psychologist and author Dr. Ken Wilgus.

0:20.8

Hey, Dr. Ken.

0:22.1

Cynthia, did you watch the World Series?

0:26.8

Well, I'm going to just give you all a little insight.

0:29.5

You don't ever need to ask if I've watched a sporting event because I'm married to Mike Yanoff.

0:34.1

And so I've seen it.

0:35.7

If it's on, my husband is a sports fanatic. So yes, I did see a little bit of

1:29.3

athletic person I know. And then you could put me right there because it's, and it's, and the thing that's

1:35.1

a problem about it is that I'm, I'm married into very athletic. And then our kids got that gene. And so now

1:43.1

they're just real mean about it.

1:44.3

Like, you know, it's like a joke.

1:45.5

They'll throw like an apple across to me. And you know, they know I can't catch it and it'll fall in the floor. They want to see you turn around and protect yourself. Terrible. Still doing that, are you, mom? Yeah. So there we are on the athletics. but I love that we're talking about this because especially as a mom who has done athletics

2:02.8

pretty much my entire parenting career.

2:06.8

I feel like I've, yeah, we've walked this road.
