It is nice to be with you as we are rapidly approaching the second ever. Super wild card weekend in the NFL.

Remember, it is no longer wild card weekend. It is super wild card weekend because we now have six games on wild card weekend.

And this year for the first time, we have a Monday night game on wild card weekend. The NFL is king, not just of the sports landscape in this country,

but of the television landscape in this country. So if the NFL says we're doing a wild card game on Monday night, the NFL is doing a wild card game on Monday night.

But did you happen to see this? The NFL on Wednesday announced that the 2021 NFL regular season averaged 17.1 million viewers.

That's TV and digital highest regular season average since 2015 up 10% from 2020.

Remember, not that long ago, we had some people predicting that the concussion craze would spell the end of the NFL.

Or at the very least would severely damage the NFL. Remember when NFL television ratings dipped in 2016 and 2017.

People thought that the kneeling during national anthems was eating away at the NFL's television audience and that the increased attention on politics in this country was damaging the NFL.

Look, there may well have been at least some truth with that stuff, but here we are now just a few years later.

And the NFL is dominating television like perhaps never before during the 2021 NFL regular season NFL games ranked as 48 of the top 50 and 91.

Of the top 100 telecasts on television, 48 of the top 50 91 of the top 100 that my friends is dominance.

I'm going to spend some time with you on this installment of the podcast on our team, exploring something that came up a decent amount during the season ending state of the team press conference on Tuesday afternoon for Washington football team head coach Rod Rivera and Washington football team general manager Morton Mayhew.

And that's something is the quality of Washington's roster beyond quarterback.

We know the deal of quarterback Washington this off season quite clearly is engineering and all out search for a franchise quarterback.

But what about the rest of the roster is it good enough to wear if a franchise quarterback is acquired.
