Hey, this is Nate, and we are in the waning days of our annual fundraiser here at Radiotopia

0:05.5

when we turn to listeners like you to support directly with contributions what we do here.

0:13.0

Independently owned and operated podcasts banding together to make the art that we want to make

0:17.3

the way we want to make it on our terms for our audience, the way that hopefully

0:22.5

you want to hear it. And I'll tell you something. I was looking at the calendar this year with the

0:26.4

fundraiser coming up, and I love the fundraiser. I believe in the fundraiser because I believe

1:20.6

But this year there was a small voice in my head which is a rare voice of doubt right there in the back.

1:26.6

Not doubt in the mission because I believe in this mission in my bones.

1:30.4

Like, this is who I am.

1:32.3

But I looked at the calendar and I said, wait a second, I also have a book coming out right now.

1:36.7

It's like right at the same time and I'm going to have to be here promoting that book.

1:40.3

And will that be too much?

1:41.3

Will these be mixed messages?

1:43.8

Will people get annoyed hearing these messages?
