Actually, he was in the Senate a really long time, but Majority Leader, yeah, I think a couple of terms.

But the term we're using for Mr. Reed today is called the ghost machine of Harry Reed.

So, my friends, they say that all politics is local.

How did that happen to become a cliche?

The former U.S. Speaker of the House, Tip O'Neill coined this phrase, which encapsulates the principle

that a politician's success is directly tied to his ability to understand and to influence the

issues of his constituents.

And of course, those are local people.

Politicians must appeal to the simple, mundane, and everyday concerns

of those who elect them in office.
