If you want to go back a couple of years ago, one of the things that I said is when Georgia won its first national championship under Kirby Smart,

with a defense five first round picks on that team from that particular year, eventually even more

than that. But when you saw that defense that I think that could rightly perhaps be in the

conversation for greatest defense of all time, you know, I asked the question of ultimately what will the legacy of that Georgia defense be?

And what I told you at the time was, is that the legacy of that Georgia defense then,

I believe would be that eventually you would create the opportunity for Georgia to have a defense

that was even better or

will be even better than the one we all saw there in 2021. Not an easy thing to do and not a small

prediction to make, but we believe that was true because when elite top flight defensive players

saw the kind of success that was possible for them at

Georgia both sort of collective team success where you could be credited with

being a major reason why George won a national championship and the fact that

playing at Georgia became a springboard to propel you to great NFL success given

that as the backdrop obviously we believed that Georgia would, as it had

always been, but also kind of taken up a notch, be a very attractive landing spot for elite

defensive players. And as you fast forward a couple of years in the future where we are right now

here in the 2025 cycle, we do once again see evidence of perhaps just
