You know, we love all this stuff because it always has a way of presenting something you oftentimes don't expect.

There are surprises seemingly at every turn, month the month, during the season, during the off season.

Certainly when it comes to UGA recruiting.

Yesterday was an example of that.

As the four-star wide receiver C.J. Wiley in an announcement that you saw right here on the Dog Nation video channels chose Florida State over both Georgia and LSU. LSU had the family tie. Georgia was the end state tie. And it was Florida State that won the commitment, at least for yesterday in the announcement that you saw right here. Now, as I was kind of telling some of our video audience a moment ago, I think stuff like this kind of puts me in a little bit of a tricky position because I'm a little bit old school and the fact that, you know, if a kid's going to allow us to be there at his ceremony and kind of televised that or at least televised the wrong word, but you know, I'm streaming, I guess, is the word I'm looking for there. Obviously, I'm going to show respect for his decision no matter what it is, even when a guy like that doesn't go to UGA. And frankly, let's say that C.J. Wiley sticks with Florida State and that becomes his school forever. Well, obviously, that's an incredible success story to be the kind of athlete that's had the kind of career,

a state champion at Milton and a guy that goes on to the Seminoles. If that's what his story is, and that's a tremendous story. And obviously, we would honor that. And as someone who loves high school football in Georgia, that's just kind of the perspective I have on that. And yet I also have an obligation, I think, to be as candid with all of you as possible during a situation like this.

So without kind of... I have on that. And yet I also have an obligation, I think, to be as candid with all of you as

possible during a situation like this. So without kind of unfairly, I guess, being too

1:52.6

skeptical of what Wally put forth yesterday, I think the one thing that you couldn't help but notice

1:59.2

in the ceremony, if you saw our video of this was the fact

2:03.0

that it was not exactly the most celebratory environment. You know, Wiley himself, and if you're

2:08.2

watching a video right now, you've seen some of this. It's not like he was all smiles necessarily.

2:13.8

He was smiling some, but at times he seemed to have a little bit more of a, you know,

2:19.5

tense, more tense face. Maybe that's just because he was nervous about the moment. Perhaps that's

2:23.5

the case. But he certainly didn't seem to be, you know, just beside himself in celebration.

2:30.0

The reaction when he picked Florida State was a little bit subdued.

2:39.3

Sometimes in the Atlanta area, when a guy like that announces that he plans on leaving the state to go to college,
