Summary

On May 19, 2022, a 40 year old woman is shot outside her house in Pleasant Grove, Utah. Everyone in the community is in disbelief. Despite almost losing her life during a brutal assault by an abuser, struggling with addiction, and living with domestic violence, the victim’s life has turned around in the months before her death. She’s recently married, and dedicates her time to helping victims of domestic trafficking reclaim their bodies and lives. When friends and family learn the killer’s identity, it’s the last person they'd ever have suspected. In episode 223, Jac and Alexis detail the devastating case of Nicki Peterson, and how the choices made by those we think we can love and trust can be more dangerous than the people we truly have reason to fear.
