All right, coming up in a few minutes, I'm going to say something about the outlook for a Georgia

player this year, my very high expectations for that player, that admittedly are probably

a little unfair. In other words, I'm probably asking more than I have a right to ask.

Almost certainly I am.

And yet it still sort of feels like it's coming from a genuine and authentic place in me

that maybe it's a possibility.

When I explain this to you in a couple of minutes, I think it's going to make more sense.

We'll get to that here coming up in a moment.

A lot of talk about one player in particular as we move a little closer to the 2024 season.

Prior to that, though, I want to look at this here for a moment.

And I thought that Connor Riley had an interesting piece at Dognation.com the other day,

looking at one of these analytics-type deals, advanced stats type deals, and I totally get some of the math nerd stuff is not everybody's cup of tea. You're well within your right to disregard all of it if you would like. But it does create a little bit of an interesting talking point. You know, one of the things that we see are these ratings like Bill Conley from ESPN.com does a version of this. It's called SP Plus.

And what it's basically sort of built around is the idea of how successful your plays are,

both as an offense advancing the football, as a defense preventing that from happening.

When you hear the word efficiency used in football, a lot of times your, you know, kind of your

analytics rating like an SP plus is kind of based on how efficient you are, how successful you are based on like the down and distance.

Other words, it's way better to get 10 yards on 3rd and 5 than it is to get 10 yards on 3rd and 30.
