microphone.

So I am so thankful that we are both here today.

I just got finished with the conversation that we're about to let you hear.

That's kind of how I usually do.

I usually do the conversation first and then I kind of do the beginning and the end of

the podcast because I want to have some context to what we're talking about.

And I'm not kidding you.

I would have introred this so differently before we recorded than I will now.

So it makes me all the more grateful that I waited.

Because here's the thing I called my friend Scott Salis, who's the pastor here in Nashville,

a pastor of Christchurch Presbyterian Church.

Also an author, his first book was called Jesus Outside the Lines and his most recent one

is called Befriend, Creating Belonging in an Age of Judgment, Isolation and Fear.

And I just wanted Scott to kind of sit down with us and talk about friendship.

Talk about what it means to like care about people and welcome people.
