I feel like I like I obviously know this case, but I feel like I honestly don't know all of the details. Yeah, because it's kind of just like talked about as like, oh, this is what led to like Amber alerts and like stuff like that, but

Right. All of the details of the actual case.

And while I am glad that the Amber alert system kind of came as a result of this case, I do feel like in a small way it was like her case was kind of

Or I guess moving forward her case is kind of like overshadowed by the Amber alert system like

Every time I searched her name, it was like Amber alert Amber alert and it was like, I mean, obviously

That's a big part of it. It's a good thing. It's a good thing. And I don't want to like shit on it, but it just makes me sad too, because I feel like some people forget why it exists. Yeah, and how important it is because this this little girl obviously lost her life.

So I do want to give like a content warning because this case doesn't include

Child death. Okay, but I don't know. I just feel like a little sad for her family in a way because I feel like it is kind of overshadowed by the Amber alert system. Yeah.

All right, so let's just get into it on January 13, 1996 nine year old Amber Hagerman took the new pink bite she had gotten for Christmas on a bike ride.

Oh, I know Amber and her little brother Ricky, who was five years old at the time, we're riding near their grandparents home in Arlington, Texas.

And you have to keep in mind the time period of this like the 90s definitely kids were playing outside without your you know parental supervision. It's definitely normal. This, you know, is no fall at the adults in this scenario, but
