Summary

Episode 33 guest Ash Holzer returns for an episode we've really been looking forward to, because WOW have things changed in her life since she was first on the pod! When we spoke to Ash (formerly "Ashley") in January of 2019, she had recently been part of the L.A. LGBT Center's Women's Coming Out group; she and her husband were living on different sides of the same house while co-parenting their three children, and legal separation papers had been filed. Fast forward to today: Ash and her husband are still cohabitating...but in a very different manner. Ash discusses the whirlwind relationship she had with a woman shortly after our initial recording ("it was really great until it wasn't"), how she unexpectedly fell back in love with her partner during the pandemic, and how she's navigated the fear that doing so would somehow erase all her growth over the past three-and-a-half years. Above all, Ash details how she's learned to follow her heart while also using her head, and the delicate balance of "trying not to let one get ahead of the other."

and the world at large.

And then occasionally, years after they initially told us how they came out to friends,

family, and the world at large, we invite them back because our whole deal on this podcast

0:37.0

is we talk about how people are constantly evolving and changing.

0:41.4

And, you know, we're all beautiful caterpillars becoming butterflies, et cetera, et cetera.

0:46.2

So to kind of put our money where our mouths are, we do like to revisit episodes now that we've been doing this podcast for over four years

0:55.9

and check in with our guests.

This is one of those episodes.

It would be great if I explained all this.

1:02.0

And then I was like, we're not doing that this week.

1:04.0

But just so you know, that's what we do sometimes.

No, we are doing that this week.

This is an absolute thrill. Okay, we are sitting here with Ash Holzer. Ash was
