Summary

Randy Alanis is the singer/guitarist of Metallica cover band, Hardwired To Kill Em All, based out of Houston, TX. We chatted with him about the ins and outs of the Metallica cover/tribute band world. Starting just a few years ago, Hardwired To Kill Em All was something Randy had been planning for years prior. He was finally united with the perfect line up for his vision. They've played all around the Houston area, regionally and even got to play the night between party for S&M 2! Randy also goes into detail about putting on "Clubber Jams" in different cities as well, which brings together Met club members to jam onstage to their favorite Metallica tunes. Thanks to Edgar Barradas for the intro to make this episode happen! Be sure to follow them on Facebook and tune into their upcoming livestream on January 23th!

As we learned in our wonderful conversation with Randy, which you guys are all going to love,

by the way, it's a trepidacious landscape out there in this world. People draw very hard lines around some of these issues, and

I don't know. I don't know what the rules are. It sounds like there are a lot of rules.

1:19.3

Yeah, there are a lot of rules. I mean, one might think a tribute band means you are playing the

exact same gear. You're dressing up with the bullet belts and maybe a battle vest.

1:28.7

Maybe you put on some wigs. You grow the perfect head field, you know, handlebar facial hair.

1:34.9

But yeah, there's a fine line apparently. Well, here's the only rule we operate by. Okay. We have one rule at

Metal Every Podcast. And guess what that rule is? I'll tell you what it is. Tell me. Have fun always. That's it. It's not that hard. If you're a tribute band or a cover band

or just you casually cover Metallica songs, as long as you're having fun, comma, always.

1:56.2

Well, I'll tell you what we are going to have fun. The reason we're talking to Randy from HardWired to Kill them all is they have a really cool show booked. It's a live, it's a free live stream via their
