All right, I am really excited to be joined today on Bad Fave Podcast by a fabulous

panel to help us unpack what's been going on with the real worker strike.

We have Lauren Gurley, a labor reporter from the Washington Post.

Welcome back, Lauren.

Thanks for having me again.

And Ross Grooters, a railroad worker, thank you so much for lending your time to be

here with us today.

Okay, so I'll start with you, Ross.

Where are we at this point in the negotiations and what's the hold up from your perspective?

I think it's important to acknowledge that there's not just one rail labor union, so there's

12 different unions involved in the negotiation process, and each one is currently at a different

point.

It's part of the operating crafts and a member of the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers

and Trainingmen.

Currently, we have a tentative agreement, and that will go out to membership and go through

a question-and-answer process before getting voted on sometime the middle of next month.

And then we'll find out if members approve that process or approve that tentative agreement,
