Summary

As part of the research for The Writer with No Hands episode, Mike went back into the archive to re-tool an oldie and a goodie, TRAXX (1988).

Written by Gary DeVore and directed by Jerome Gary, Traxx (1988 ) stars Shadoe Stevens as the titular action hero who comes to a town beleaguered by baddies (including Robert Davi as Aldo Palucci). He cleans up crime with gusto, verve, and an endless amount of bullets. But Traxx really wants to give up his live as a one-man army to become the next Famous Amos.

0:08.4	Hey, folks, welcome to a special Redux episode of the projection booth. I've never done one of these before, but things just happen to work out the way that they worked out.
0:21.1	Around the time that this is coming out, I'm also putting out an episode on a documentary
0:26.2	called The Writer with No Hands, which is concerning a screenwriter named Gary D'Vore.
0:33.1	Gary DeVore was also the screenwriter of tracks, as well as quite a few other things, including the amazing Running Scared, and personally, another movie that I really enjoy, which is Raw Deal.
0:48.5	He wrote some other things as well that I'm not giving short shrift to, but those two really have a special place in my heart.
0:55.5	Now, Trax, on the other hand, had a very special place in Mondo Justin's heart, and we did an episode on it way back when, I think it was episode 21.
1:05.6	And when we recorded that episode, there was a little bit of a snafoo technical error that happened
1:11.6	where Justin had interviewed both Robert Davy and Shadow Stevens about their work in the film
1:18.5	and lost those interviews, and that has been a bone of contention for a long time, not me
1:26.6	having anything, holding anything against Justin as far as
1:29.8	that goes, but it was just one of those like, oh my God, I wish that we had been able to put those
1:34.3	interviews out there, but we weren't. So while I'm doing my research into Gary DeVore, talking
1:41.1	about writer with no hands, I said, you know what, I'm going to reach out to these guys again. I'm going to reach out to Priscilla Barnes. I'm going to reach out to Robert Davy. I'm going to reach out to Shadow Stevens and see if I can redo the Davy and Stevens interviews, maybe even get Priscilla Barnes involved in this. Unfortunately, Robert Davy, Priscilla Barnes didn't get back to me, but Shadow Stevens did.
2:04.4	So this episode, we're going to go back.

2:10.4	Re-edit things, tweak things a little bit, you know, take out sort of the references to the
