So this week, we're going to be talking about something that's a little controversial.

We're going to be talking about alcohol, and we're going to figure out what's the role of alcohol in Islamic history.

So I've invited a professor on to give me some history and context behind alcohol's role in Islamic law and poetry, which you'd be surprised, even though it's banned, it figures very heavily in the Muslim imagination.

But this is not the only episode we're going to be doing. We're going to have some later conversations where we ask people to tell some stories and explain their personal relationship to intoxicants.
