I stayed at a hotel last night in Pocklington, England, and when I was about to check in,

there were some people standing around in the lobby who walked up to me and said, are you sure that you want to stay here?

I said, well, why wouldn't I?

I said, well, this hotel is haunted.

It's haunted by the ghost of a little girl named Charlotte.

And a lot of people check in, see something scary, and then they check right back out and go somewhere else they said are you

sure you want to put up with that and i said i don't really have a problem with it at all you know

if a ghost wants to come visit me that's fine but honestly i don't believe in any of that crap

and then the receptionist handed me the key and said, you will tomorrow morning. Hi, friends, this is Otis Gibbs, and you're listening to Thanks for Giving a damn.

I'm sitting here in my hotel room in Belfast, and I should let you know

that I did not see any ghost in that hotel in Pocklington. And I've actually seen scarier hotels

in Wichita, Kokomo, and Texarkana. This is a personal journal. This is a bit of an experiment.

I like to say right up front that I haven't the slightest idea what I'm doing, but I decided to do it anyway.

This show is founded with the idea that there are only two people in art that matter.

There's the creative individual and the person experiencing it, and everything else is an artificial filter.

And this is a way for me to share things with you guys without any filters whatsoever.

My guess this week is John Strom. John is a singer, songwriter, guitar player, drummer. You might

know him from bands like the Lemonheads and the Blake Babies. He's also an entertainment attorney.

And I would guess that right now he's protecting the interest of some of your favorite bands.

John grew up in Bloomington, Indiana, but he splits his time these days between Nashville and Birmingham, Alabama.

My earliest memories of John would be seeing him play at the patio, and I always enjoyed the bands that he was in.
