Hey guys. So good to be here today. We're in the middle of a power and love school,

0:08.6

and Bryce is here with me. He is reaching Gen Z, and I love it so much. I had a scripture

0:14.4

pop up in my heart, and I wanted to share it with Bryce. And it's a scripture from 1 Timothy 4, and it says,

0:22.6

let no one despise or think less of you because of your youth,

0:26.5

but be an example, a pattern for believers in speech,

0:30.9

conduct, love, faith, and purity.

0:34.5

It's probably one of my most favorite scriptures,

0:37.2

because even though, like, and I came in at 34, you know, I got radically sad. And Jesus walloped me, like, in a great way. And I fell in love with him. So I'm 18 years in. Actually, this week is our 18th, my wife and I was 18th anniversary. So, so stoked about it. But this was a scripture that God told me to cling to, like when I first got saved. Because when you're born again, like you're the new guy. Like everybody's like, okay, let's see if this lasts. Yeah. So this was so huge for me because it talks about being an example because people are going to look at you,

1:11.3

like you're just some young buck. You don't know what you're talking about. Like, what are you doing? Who do you think you are? And he says, be an example in speech, your conduct, your love, your faith, and your purity. And it's such a goal, man. Yeah. So, I mean, it has to be a goal. has to be one of your goals too. Because I know you're burning for Jesus, bro. By far, by far. It's, you got to live out that way. That's awesome. I mean, it radically, that scripture is something I've had to cling to. Amen. Because growing up in the Bible Belt, it's always growing up, I grew up in the church, but I didn't know God.

2:36.3

So growing up in the church, it was always like, I had all this head knowledge. I was like, man, I want to talk, I want to talk. And all these people would be like, you're too young. You're too young. And I'm thinking like, well, what about King David? Yeah. What about guys like him? like those guys are known as a man after God's own heart. Yeah. And he's chosen at such a young age. Come on, man. I know I was called, but I wasn't a son. Yeah. I was just kind of like going through it. So where did you, where did you grow up at? I grew up in Cartersville, Georgia, a super small town. Whoa. Bum country like, like, just out there doing it. Were you raised, where you, do you grow up in church your whole life? I grew up in the church, but it's like a southern thing. Like, it's just a southern thing. So just something everyone does. Everyone goes to church. Yeah, so how did you encounter Jesus? Like, what happened? Like, I know we kind of shared a little bit before we started.

2:39.0

So you can share it in a PG way.

2:39.9

Yeah, no, it's cool.

2:45.3

Like, I was, well, I was 13, I'd seen one of your videos of you when I was using the bathroom.

2:52.8

And that was when I was, like, first actually introduced to, like, raw, real Christianity, what it means to be a son.

3:01.5

And then just like I said, teenager, doing things, being foolish, not watching the way I talk, act, interact with people.

3:24.4

And then I'm 16 years old sitting in Waffle House and God literally used a random man to show me how much he loved me. Whoa. Dude wasn't a believer, anything. He just told, was telling me about how him and his wife are getting divorced. He was like, I love my wife and she just doesn't feel the same about me. And he's like, we're not growing in our relationship because our love isn't mutual. We're not putting in much effort.

3:44.2

And I was sitting there going, I was like, that's what I've got wrong. Everyone in the South that grows up in church, they just think that they know God and then they're just like, all right, whatever. But in reality, I'm like sitting in a chair going, God, you do everything, I'll do nothing. but me and God can't be best friends if we're not spending meals with each other, if we're

3:43.2

not hanging out.

3:44.2

If I'm not walking in the park with him, I can't be friends with him.

3:48.0

And I wanted to be more than that.

3:49.2

I just want to be a son.

3:50.5

Like, because in being his son, he's my best friend.
