Today we're going to be talking to Mike Figuero of The Humanist Report about the absolute

disastrous, horrific, terrifying first couple days of the Trump administration, worse than

anybody could have imagined.

I mean, normally the first few days are bad of any administration, but like, he is just

really fucking pouring on the psychopathy.

You know what I mean?

The thing that really makes it feel so bad is that there's just like, doesn't seem to

be that much opposition to it.

Yeah, there's like a whimper of a response.

Like, oh, hey, a bunch of Democrats are going to vote for the Lake and Riley Act. Yeah, let's go. Like, it's, that's in all these oligarchs lining up behind him and bending the knee and I don't know, the media outlets, even though like, you know, once we're all in on the resistance last time, we're like, let's make a trip down to Marila-Lago. I think that's partly what's so disheartening, that in the combination that you have

so many pivot points that we're at as like human beings trying to live on this planet,

climate change being one of them.

We'll talk about this AI stuff being another one of them, but it just, it all feels very weighty and consequential.

And then there's like no organized mess opposition.

So the thing that I don't understand.

If you're the Democrats and you see, you know these executive orders are coming.

You know they're coming.

How can you not pick out two or three of the worst ones and just hammer away?

If it was a Democrat who signed an executive order to raise drug prices, what do you think the Republicans would be saying?

They would never shut up about it.

They'd be like, there's a betrayal of the American people, and I can't believe you're siding with big pharma, and is a this is terrible. This is the worst thing that ever happened.
