Maisie grew up near Brighton, East Sussex and isn't from a very musical family, but her parents both loved music and she would often accompany her dad to gigs.

She was a voracious reader as a child and at nine was writing her own poetry.

Later, inspired by the likes of Taylor Swift,

Lily Allen, Ingrid Michelson, and Sarah Burrellas. She began writing songs at the age of 12

on a guitar borrowed from a friend and quickly became obsessed with the craft at one point

writing three or four songs a day. When she was 14 Maisie started uploading her

music to YouTube and by the time she was 16 she was learning to establish a rapport with
