So Vice President Kamala Harris has secured the support of enough

Democratic delegates to become her party's presumptive nominee

against Republican Donald Trump after President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race.

Harris is the sitting vice president, as you know. So that means she will play a key role in counting

votes and announcing election results in January of 2025. Now, there are a few things that we're going to clean up here

based on this reporting. It led to multiple verify readers to ask if a vice president can certify the results of an election in which

they are also a candidate. It is not uncommon for a sitting vice president to preside over an election in which they are a candidate.
