Welcome to Bible Mysteries. What if there are secrets in the Bible the world doesn't want you to know.

0:25.6

You're listening to Episode 208, The Heavens Declare.

0:28.6

Interview with Dr. Jason Lyell.

0:51.7

Now here are your hosts, Scott and John. Hey, this is Scott Mitchell.

0:53.5

And this is John Potts.

0:54.6

And we are excited to introduce our interview with Dr. Jason Lyle.

0:58.4

He's a Christian astrophysicist, and he agreed to come on the show and discuss his perspective.

1:04.8

We wanted you to know that Dr. Lyle has a different perspective on the scriptures than we do, and that's okay. Absolutely. Yeah.

1:12.9

You've got to listen to all takes on the scripture, and that's how you learn. Exactly. So we want you

1:17.6

to know that we're not a program that wants to engage people in debate. There were things where we

1:23.0

agree with Dr. Lyle, and there are things where we would disagree. So we want you to be a good Berean.

1:29.2

It's our job to look at things and see other perspectives. John, you well know that in the years we've learned things that were different than what we've taught. We go back and we correct. Absolutely. But again, that's part of being a Berean, right? Exactly. Exactly.

1:42.8

People should do that with this interview that they're going to hear because they're going to hear a different perspective from Dr. Lyle.

1:47.8

When they go to church, go home and study what you learned from the podcast from the church, examine the scriptures, and that's how you get better. I mean, it's like practicing for a basketball game, right? You've got to practice to get better. You've got to study to show that self-approved. It's really true. And any one of our guests, if we sat down in a room and we began to discuss doctrinal differences, you would find that we differ in many things. Oh, yeah. Even though we're in agreement on so much. So Dr. Lowe's perspective was interesting.

2:18.8

He looked at a lot of prophetic scriptures as poetic rather than actual scriptures.

2:23.8

So that's one area I would disagree with him on.

2:26.1

So I want you to know that we're not promoting his perspective about everything, but we were

2:31.1

certainly grateful to have him.

2:33.3

He gave an interesting perspective about the curvature of the earth and the spherical

2:36.5

earth.

2:36.8

Absolutely.

2:37.3

I learned some stuff there.
