2019, I'm Ryan McCaffrey and I want to wish a happy 4th of July weekend to my

United States listeners. It's been a nice sunny one here in

San Francisco, although 4th of July night itself was foggy and windy and

cold, which is nothing new, but it's still a beautiful day which is

which is great to have very grateful for it and I have to say I thought because of

the 4th of July holiday falling on Thursday this year. A lot of places just

closing up shop Friday making for a very very short business week. I thought

there might not be a lot to talk about in the world of Tesla this week but no such

no such worry it was all worry for not because as I've learned in almost four years of doing this podcast now,

there is almost never a dull week in the world of Tesla.

And sure enough, there was plenty to talk about this week most of it good let's start

with the most fantastic news of all which is Tesla's Q2 production and delivery

numbers you know if you go way back, remember Elon had said in the wake of the

price cuts and the $35,000 model 3, you know, that whole sort of turbulent time around late February up into March.

He had said, hey, Q2, you know, we're going to be in the red, we're going to be, we're not going

to be profitable in Q1, we probably won't be in Q2 but we should get back to

profitability in Q3 and Q4. Well, it's too early yet to know about profitability, but Tesla's got a really, really good chance at it because their

Q2 numbers are tremendous. In fact, they blew away expectations.
