into today's episode. Life in Chancesco's Romania was grim.

His centralized agriculture policy was a major failure.

15 years ago, Chaugesco attacked small peasant production in favour of big collective farms.

But though peasant-owned farms comprised only 12% of arable land,

they produced around half the country's milk, meat, fruit and vegetables. festivals.

Severe food shortages inevitably resulted, aggravated by Chauchezko's policy of balancing the books by exporting food. But on paper Chisco's agriculture

policy looked magnificent. He falsified the purr production figures, greatly magnifying them.

Collective farm heads were interrogated and imprisoned for refusing to falsify the figures.
