Here's your host, Brandon Adams. There's a genre of media called Media Watch.

It's media, I guess, that watches media. It seems like a pretty good business to be in, I guess.

For those who's to consume a lot of media anyway, you know, basically saying, hey, my job is

to actually watch the media. That's what most of us has been all of our day doing anyway, so why not do that for work? And I feel like from time to time it's probably pretty appropriate to kind of do a little bit of a media watch. Fact check, if you will, of the other media that's out there in college football seems like it's appropriate thing to do. We've done this before. You remember a year ago when Georgia was preseason number three, we thought unfairly so,

or at least the way which was sort of unanimously assumed, oh, there's no way this Georgia team can win

the national championship. After all, they lost on defense. And at one point in the summer last year,

we kind of pointed out, okay, here's a specific way in which we believe that Georgia is being

treated unfairly as a way of boosting

a team that has a big fan base and perhaps could be a contender and that team is being treated

with kind of kid gloves in a very favorable fashion and Georgia by comparison on a very similar

issue is being treated much more harshly you'll remember remember this. And what, at least if you've been

here with us for a while, regular reviewer, you may remember this, that we looked at some of the

preseason magazine stuff and the kind of prevailing chatter specific quotes we read on the show a summer

ago last year about the idea that Georgia could not win the national championship in 2022 because

they lost so much on defense.

And it was assumed that offensively they couldn't correct enough of their issues to make up for the fact they were not going to be quite as good defensively.

And what we said was that take at the time completely ignored the fact that in 2021, two seasons ago,

Georgia was very good offensively, that in any metric you want to use fancy stat analytic type

stuff, just regular point score type stuff, more basic straightforward stats.
