Summary

WIDOWHOOD SERIES PART ONE   The loss of a spouse is one of the deepest forms of pain that any of us can imagine. Marriage is one of life’s greatest joys, and when that is suddenly cut short, the pain that results is something that most of us can’t even begin to imagine. Ron Hutchcraft, however, doesn’t have to imagine. In 2016, Ron’s wife of more than 50 years passed away suddenly and unexpectedly. Through this unbelievable pain, Ron found a new, deeper understanding of God. To kick off our Widowhood Series, Ron sits down with Davey to share his story of loss and healing, and how we can find hope in the middle of our deepest pain. Learn more about your ad choices. Welcome to the Nothing Is Wasted Podcast, where we believe that no matter what you've gone

0:09.8

through in life, God is inviting you to partner with Him to take back your story.

0:15.1

On this podcast, we have inspiring conversations with people who are doing just that.

0:20.4

And now, your hosts, Davey Blackburn and Aubrey Samson.

0:26.5

Hey, everybody. Welcome to the Nothing Is Wasted Podcast. I'm Aubrey.

0:31.5

And I'm Davey and we're so excited that you're joining us today because we're starting

0:35.5

a brand new series. And I'm super excited about this because it happens to apply to my own

0:41.8

personal story. And you know, Aubrey, to be honest with you, when we started the Nothing

0:45.7

Is Wasted Podcast, we weren't really sure how it was going to evolve and what was going

0:50.1

to happen. I knew that I had a few different people that I wanted to talk to who were widows

0:54.9

and widowers because that's my story. And I kind of thought that that's probably what

1:00.6

we would do is help people in that particular area of grief. And then it just evolved into

1:05.7

a lot of different pain points. This is the first time we're doing a series specifically

1:11.3

on widowhood. Can you believe that? No, I'm actually really surprised by that. Yeah, it

1:16.3

surprises me that this is the very first time this, especially just because of your story,

1:20.5

too. And this is such a pain point for so many people. So I'm so glad we are going for

1:26.1

this. Yeah, we've realized over the past few years just how many widows and widowers

1:31.1

that we encounter. And just, you know, again, the lack of resources that are there, the

1:35.7

lack of community that is there. And so we thought, man, it'd be really great to compile

1:41.4

a list of interviews and some resources. One, if you're listening to this and that's

1:45.9

not your story, this is a great resource to share to someone, you know, in your life

1:50.8

who, you know, is walked through something like this. I can't tell you how many times
