Hello everybody, this is Jim Cornette and this is the episode of the Jim Cornette experience that will begin airing on Thursday, I believe October 5th or whatever the case.

It's going to be a different kind of show because we've had a different kind of week and the only reason I've probably been able to get through the opening part of this so far so well is because my co-host Brian last made me laugh.

Right before we went on the air, probably for the first time in a day or so and so I appreciate that and he is also here with me in case I start blubbering to fill in the gaps. Hello Brian.

Hello, Jim. It is a tough day. It's a sad day. It's a sad moment, but the way I'm looking at it is it's a great time to celebrate the life and the career of a great man universally loved by everyone who ever enjoyed him on TV or met him.

Well, and of course, and we'll back up for just a minute because a lot of people may be over in the UK or our fans around the world are thinking, oh, here's the show where he does the big promo about Las Vegas and and it needs to be done and it will be done, but I want to take everybody back first just about the past three days or so.

Okay, where we're taping us on Tuesday morning, even though it airs on Thursday and you know, I've been just a emotional basket case different than normal over the last several days because not only did we just lose Bobby Heening, which seems like now a year ago with all the other stuff that's gone on.

But then this past Sunday, you and I were going to record the drive through for this week, which we didn't do and people, you know, on Twitter, we announced it, but they're home, no drive, they're on Monday, but when we were going to record, I just Sunday morning talk to Shane Russell, Lance Russell, son, of course, Lance Russell, the broadcasting icon and the voice of Memphis wrestling.

And here I go already, but I just talked Shane Sunday morning and they've had like the United States has had and the world has had such tragedy in their family over this last weekend where the reason why that that Lance was in Memphis this weekend was that his daughter Valerie had had cancer for some time and

the family had come there at the suggestion of the doctors that everybody would come in and she passed away on Friday and then it was Saturday morning, some time that and I'm not trying to, you know, go and need to buy his personal family business, but this is, you know, it's basic facts that Lance fell.

He was in a different location, you know, in the middle of the night he gets up and he's 91 years old and he unfamiliar place and so he tripped on some apparently or whatever and fell and broke his hip and the family discovered that sometime after and took him to the hospital and

and we got that talk to Shane Sunday morning and you know Shane had said at that time to me that that you know the doctor said said that you know he was sedated obviously and on whatever medication I could give him and it at age 91 it's just a matter of whether he is going to get better or

or you know just physically can't and they really didn't know, you know, whatever else at that point. Anyway, so I told you shortly afterwards that I'm not, you know, I'm just, I'm not going to do a show today and answer questions.

I love all the questions, but it's not the time. You know what I'm saying. I don't want to do it. We'll just let everybody know that we're going to skip one and we'll talk about it this Thursday and maybe we'll have some better news or whatever.

Well, then I get on Twitter on Sunday afternoon just because I'm open around and so I get on the internet and and in the process of talking to a few people about the health care thing, which is a show for a complete another day.

And then somebody brings up the gun thing and I just I'm like, you know, I'm cranky anyway and I'm like, you fucking fox, you know, just what the fuck and said something about the gun control issue that we have or don't have is we don't have any gun control.

Therefore, we don't have an issue. And as son of, and then I got off that and went watch TV for the evening and I get up the next morning and, you know, 500 people have been fucking shot and et cetera.

So then I've all of what with Monday, I guess it was I got I was mad. I went from just mopey and blubbering to just mad as I could possibly be not even know any of these people.

Never had come across them, but just the fact that it's allowed to happen, which is going to be believe me a show for another day.

And it was planning for it to be this week's show. And all that ridiculous. So I was I was mad as I could possibly be bouncing off the walls that this didn't affect me personally in any way, but affects all of us personally and and and it's allowed to go on and I'm fucking teeth and mad.

And to be honest, you know, looking forward to just trying to ask people to do something and I and then I get up and I say and Jimmy Kimmel, who is blubbering like I am now, but instead of being mad was actually sensible, something I have hard time with.

And the most powerful piece of public speaking I've ever seen the monologue he did on this and and et cetera. So I encourage everybody to watch that.

And then I get up this morning and you know, hear the news that I think Jerry Lawler probably was the first one, but you know, confirmed in by everybody pretty quickly that Lance passed away overnight.
