I'm Ainsley Arment here with Tina Ingold, and today we're talking about scheduling our homeschool day,

0:09.3

a few fears that some moms might have and helping our kids fall in love with learning.

0:13.7

So grab a cup of coffee and join us on the front porch.

Let's get started.

0:52.1

Music Let's get started. I recently met with a friend who's going to start to home school next year, but she's pulling her second and her fourth grader out of public school.

0:54.6

And is really excited about it. But we've been meeting because she just wants to run questions by me and ask. But one of her main questions was about

0:59.5

scheduling her day. Like what does a day look like? And I know we've talked about that before. But

1:03.2

when it comes to scheduling your day, I feel like it's so important to remember that everybody's

house looks different, but every year looks different too. So asking me now,

1:21.9

thinking and reading and praying. And I know this coming fall, things will look a little different,

1:25.4

if not a lot different in our

1:27.5

homeschooling, and I'm excited about it, but situations changes. Babies grow older. Sometimes you're having a

1:32.6

baby and that throws a whole other wrench in it or homeschooling through hard times. Traveling, some people

1:36.5

just decide to travel for a year or several months. And I feel like it makes the day look different. You know, you're just squeezing things in in between all the adventures you're having and museums you're visiting and things like that. I look at the kind of experiences

1:48.4

when I'm planning my year. I don't look at what my days are going to look like. I look at the kind

1:51.8

of experiences I want my kids to have. And then the other stuff, I'll just squeeze in somewhere.

1:56.0

Yeah, absolutely. And I would say to be really careful about having too high of expectations, you know,

2:02.6

otherwise you're going to get discouraged really fast. So don't be discouraged if the first few weeks

2:06.9

or the first few months feel crazy and unorganized and don't look like how you pictured in your mind.
