How are you feeling today?

I'm feeling much better today than I did yesterday.

Yesterday I had an immense sense of dread.

At 5.30, because it was sundown prayer time. So I was praying.

I had just been watching everything that was going on on Capitol Hill. And as I was praying,

I heard sirens outside. And I got this, like, strange pang in my gut that I was like, oh, my God, like my husband works in the city, he works at hospital, was in the subway and some MAGA asshole decided to do something crazy on the subway

and like, what if he doesn't come home tonight? Like, what if those sirens are because there was

some sort of insane in, like, Newark or something? So I got really worried and sort of crying.

It's okay. I cry all the time. It just made me think

about like, this is how I feel just because my husband works in the city. Like, I cannot imagine what

was like last night for people that live in the DMV area. Like, I'm sure you know lots of people

that work in D.C. I've got family that works on Capitol Hill. Like,

it was a scary few hours. So first of all, mobs aren't new to me. Growing up, we had a lot of

riots. I've lived in places where it was like a lot of Hindu Muslim fights and riots. And

it would be like every Eid, there would be a curfew. Every Ganesh Chitut eve there would be a curfew.

Every Ganesh Chitutti, there would be a curfew, right?
