0:30.0	We're going to talk about 237 reasons why people have sex.
0:33.1	So why 237 reasons?
0:41.2	Well, researchers published in 2007 in an article in the archives of sexual behavior called Why Humans Have Sex.
0:44.3	That's Meston and Bus, if you want to look it up.
0:48.1	And so what they did was they basically polled people and it was open-ended.
0:50.0	It wasn't a multiple choice test.
0:56.5	So they pulled people and they said, just tell me why you have sex.
1:01.6	So they range from the mundane where I wanted to experience physical pleasure to the spiritual.
1:04.0	I wanted to get closer to God, to the altruistic.
1:07.7	I wanted the person to feel good about him or herself to vengeful.
1:10.3	I wanted to get back at my partner for having cheated on me. So this data has been
1:12.9	chewed apart and broken up into reasons why females, reasons why males, top 50 reasons, reasons
1:19.7	based upon age. So there's been tons of data that have come out of this article, but I wanted to go
1:25.3	back to the very original article and just talk about the
1:28.9	237 reasons why people have sex. And I think some takeaways from this is there is no one right
1:36.5	answer. There are many, many, many different reasons why people have sex and there isn't any right
