Hey, hey, it's Conrad Thompson and your listening to grilling J.R. What's going on, Jim Ross? How are you?

I'm good, man. I'm just trying to weather these storms rolling through Oklahoma just another day in the tornado belt.

Yeah, we can our fair share of those here in Alabama, but man, we tore a tornado through our tunes last week.

We were the top rated rassling podcast in all the land last week. I think people were excited about our debut episode. What was the feedback you got?

Oh, it's overwhelming. It was the heartwarming actually. Really good. So I was very positive. I appreciate the fans listening telling their friends we have any show.

So here today we are episode number two and ready to kick some more audio ass.

And we're excited to keep the train on the tracks today because we're talking about the curtain call.

And this is one of the more critical moments in wrestling. A lot of things are going to change and we're going to talk about what happened, what could have happened, what wasn't supposed to happen.

But it's a pretty interesting night for professional wrestling. May 16, 1996, Madison Square Garden, New York City.

And you told me off air a little bit of trivia about this particular garden show and yourself.

Yeah, you know, when I went to work for events in 93 soon thereafter, some of my exits and re entries and so forth.

He wanted me to, you know, I started booking the cards, the matches at the live events. And he called me one time. He said, Hey, J.R. Meet me at the office or meet me somewhere at home, someplace and like that.

Are you going to ride the garden with me? And I didn't know I was even going to garden. So I said, Oh, okay, you want to go to the garden? That's a big good. He said, Well, what do you want to go?

So that's until we all I need to know right there that I need to go to every garden show. And it was the right thing to do quite frankly. I was just being lazy. You work eight or 10 hours a day, then you go work.

Another several hours to the at the at an event. It makes it for a long ass day, but the my luck. If you want to call it luck. That day I had the flu. And I had to flu pretty much all week hacking and confidence season.

And anybody knows the legends of the great minister of man, you know that he's not a he's not a hacker or a copper or a sneezed person. He don't do it. And he don't be around it. I've seen in cursing himself violently.

We released released sneezed. And if somebody can't send a new guy can't do a meeting they sneezed everybody didn't look at the guy that looked at events to see what he was going to do because they knew he didn't approve of sneezing. So the sneezing rule got me out of going to the garden on that particular night. So ironically, even though I got a wealth of BS on this thing, information and so forth.

I did not go to the garden that night and I was not present for the curtain call, but subsequently after that event, I felt like I was there and probably should have been there in hindsight.

I've based on what happened. So that was it was a strange day. It was all you know, we could be at a good house. The card was strong in the town that was over and in.
