Hi, I'm Sandra Champlain. For almost 25 years, I've been on a journey

Did you know Abraham Lincoln consulted mediums to help formulate his policies while President of the

United States? In 1891, Nettie Colburn Maynard published her memoir entitled Was Abraham Lincoln a

spiritualist. She provides a detailed account of her experience of giving medium settings for both

President and Mrs. Lincoln. In 1856, at the age of 15, Nettie and a friend began to sit and

develop their mediumship. They sat daily for a year. It was much easier for people in the 1850s to sit

and develop their mediumship since distractions such as television, movies, radio, and the internet

did not exist. In her book, Nettie writes that Lincoln's emancipation proclamation was inspired

by the spirit world. The truth about mediumship is our first conversation today, followed by answering

the question, do our pets join us in the afterlife? Meet Carrie McLeod in Philip Dykes, international
