Well, thanks, Eric. Today's topic is going to be the pivotal day of June 28, 1863.

It might not be a day that a lot of listeners

appreciate being of great significance,

but man, June 28th has got something for everybody.

Depending on what side of the fence you're on,

our title today could be, we move on the word of an actor

to talk about General Lee's movements

and the Army of Northern Virginia.

But on the Army of the Potomac side, trouble comes to George Mead.

So those are going to be our two primary areas of focus today, but we've got a lot of good stuff in between the lines to cover both armies.

When we look at June 28th, I don't think it's a stretch to say that outside of a battle day,
