Every single week on the Q&A I do on Instagram called Whaddya Wanna Know Wednesday (@m.is.for.mama), I get asked some version of the question: "What made you decide to have SO many kids?"

Well, here's the podcast I'll be pointing everybody to from here on out! In this episode, I flesh out why Shaun and I felt called--not to a larger-than-average family--but to seek the Lord's will for the number of children we would ultimately have.

I also answer questions about about my background (you might be surprised by what you learn!) and the motivations that ultimately culminated in my becoming a "mama of many."

0:15.2	been asked since I started spending any amount of time on the internet and that is why do you have so many kids.
0:23.8	I remember one time I mentioned that this is a question
0:26.0	that I get asked a lot and a couple of people asked me,
0:28.4	why in the world would anyone ever ask you that?
0:30.6	What business is it of theirs? But I think that that discounts the fact that
0:34.7	we as human beings are inherently curious we are really interested in what our neighbor is doing
0:41.2	what our sister is doing what our friend is doing, what our sister is doing, what our friend is doing.
0:44.4	We're constantly gauging and checking and recalibrating our own emotions and behaviors and
0:50.3	preferences and attitudes based on what people around us are doing.
0:54.0	And while that can be really helpful, it can also cause a lot of discontentment.
0:57.6	It can cause a lot of frustration.
1:00.5	It can cause a lot of jealousy.
1:02.4	And as Teddy Roosevelt is famously quoted as saying
1:04.5	comparison is the thief of joy. Of course as Christians we should be looking to
1:09.3	God's word first and foremost for how we should live, what attitudes we should have, how we should treat others,
1:16.4	whether we should even care about what it is that they are doing.
1:19.2	But I think that the more that you stray from the norm, the more likely you are to receive questions about anything whether it's
1:26.1	living in a tiny house whether it's traveling whether it's being a missionary whether it's
1:30.5	having a lot more kids than the norm.
