It's time to play like a jet with your host, Scott Mason. Play like a jet. What does that mean? They wrote me off. I ain't right back, though. Smith sets. Fires down field. Wide open. Touchdown. 56 yards from Gino Smith. Garrett Wilson. Wow. What a catch. Touchdown. Shets! That kid's amazing!

This is Play Like a Jet. My name is Scott Mason. You can follow me on Twitter. Play Like a Jet 1. And it's time to answer your mailbag questions with our friend. Who is the editor over at JetNation.com? Mr. Glenn Naughton. Glenn, what's going on, brother? Counting down the day, Scott, what are we?

1:10.9

I think we're at 30, 30 days of the draft, 29.

1:13.2

We might be inside of 30 by now, but, uh, Glenn, what's going on, brother? Countdown today, Scott. What are we?

1:10.9

I think we're at 30, 30 days of the draft 29.

1:13.2

We might be inside of 30 by now, but yeah, watching a lot of prospects and keeping an eye on the calendar.

1:19.3

We've gotten to the point now where people are so bored that they're manufacturing controversies.

1:25.5

The latest, of course, is that apparently Arvel Reese isn't any good

1:28.8

because of a bad drill. And by the way, they were comparing it to a drill that Ruben Dane was doing

1:34.3

and they were doing two different drills. Right. Yeah, well, listen, this time of year, man,

1:39.6

and that's the thing we do, we do get crazy with the overanalysis. I think, I think there's too much time that people talk, especially like, I'm, I am so over. I mean, I understand it's important and you got to discuss it. I'm so over talking about first round prospects. I mean, they get all the pub, they get all the press, they get all the love. And I think this is why some people only talk about the first round. Like the number of times I'm like, oh, the Jets should take this guy. And then people respond as if that's their only pick. Oh, great. Who's going to be the tackle? Who's going to block if you draft that wide receiver? I'm like, whoever you take in the second round? Like, that was the big thing with the Brock Bowers thing. I wouldn't shut up about eight powers. We need a tackle.

2:35.9

I'm like, it's a deep class. There's going to be tackles in round two. But yeah, people get so hyper fixated on those round one prospects. They completely forget their six other rounds. Yeah, that's happening to me a bunch of times when I do those daily mock drafts. And for those that don't follow me on Twitter, which you can do at Play Like a Jet 1.

2:52.1

I will generally post mock drafts. And for those that don't follow me on Twitter, which you can do at Play Like a Jet 1, I will generally post one mock draft a day, and I'll post song lyrics along with it. And that's my way of throwing out song lyrics to songs that I like that maybe I can open other people up to. Maybe it's a song you don't know, and so you check it out and you like it. Or maybe it's a song that you do know. You haven't listened to in a while. And it reminds you to listen to that song. But it's just a fun thing that I do with the mock drafts. And so there will be times where I'll pick somebody at 16. It's not a wide receiver. and then I get all this stuff. They have to take a receiver. They have to take a receiver. Yeah, they can take a receiver in round two if they want to also.

3:11.1

It doesn't have to take a receiver. They have to dig a receiver.

3:08.1

Yeah, they can take a receiver in round two if they want to also. It doesn't have to be at number 16. So we're getting to that point now where people are just overthinking and over analyzing. And as you said, Glenn, they're acting like the first round. It's the only round that exists. when it comes to quarterbacks,

3:24.5

that often is the case, though,

3:25.9

if you want to get a franchise quarterback.
