Communication is one of the most important qualities of high performing coaching staffs or any

leadership group. If you are a leader of any kind, getting clear on communication systems is one of the most important things you

can do in order to optimize effectiveness. But it's not just about more communication. It's about the

right kind of communication. And as with most things, quality matters more than quantity. Sometimes you'll hear people say,

oh, we just need to communicate more. Not necessarily. Quality over quantity. And to ensure that

your communication is high quality, think of the acronym PACT. P-A-C-T. The P stands for people.

You want to make sure the right people are getting the information.

Whenever you receive information, you want to ask yourself, who else needs to know this?

The A stands for accurate. You want to ensure the information is correct because there are three

types of information. There's non-information, which is information

that everybody knows or is redundant. There is misinformation. This is the most dangerous

information. Misinformation. This is information that is incorrect that will actually infuse

doubt and complexity or noise to the decision-making process. And finally, there's

accurate information, which what we're talking about. It's both true and relevant. And

ideally, it's not redundant. You want to aim for accuracy. The sea is clear.

We've all been around someone who uses language that are $51 words when you can use a $5 word.
