2036. This episode is for those of you who are trying to create a process or a system.

In my work with head coaches from different sports at the professional level, this is a topic we

discuss very often. How do you create a process that's simple enough to execute,

but holds the integrity and is able to be applied under many different circumstances and

situations? When we think about developing a system or a process, I think about the sentence

that I can't attribute it to anybody. I don't know who it is. It's not mine, but I think about developing a system or a process, I think about the sentence that I can't attribute it to

anybody. I don't know who it is. It's not mine, but I think about this often. Quote,

complexity is often mistaken for intelligence. Simplicity is what drives real success, close quote.

If you take a look at any complex or seemingly complex system, the deeper you go, the more you'll

realize that it's just a bundle or a collection of simple systems.

So if you're trying to create a system for yourself or a process in any domain, a system

of working out better, a system of learning, a system of leadership, a system of strategy

and culture.

Make it as simple as you possibly can.

Simple systems is what drives real successes.

And so my question to you is, how can you make things more simple?

And then drive consistency.

And you'll notice as you're driving consistency, you see that you'll make little tweaks to the system here and there but start with simplicity because the more you overcomplicate

things right out the gate the harder it is to be consistent the harder it is other for other people

to replicate and you're going to waste a lot of time, a lot of energy, and you're going to drive and

pull the focus of your people in many different directions.
