Good morning and welcome to the Increase Remindy Podcast. I'm Justin Sua, episode 2013. Today is a quick one.

Just want to share the findings of a research article that came out in the Academy of Management Journal in 2023.

It's talking about undercommunicating versus over communicating as a leader.

And they did this study.

They did an analysis of 2,700 comments or people talking about their leaders and leadership

assessments.

And it suggests that under communication is seen by people as a lack of empathy and concern for others.

And this can undermine a leader's effectiveness and it can undermine a leader's trust,

a trust that the people have in that leader.

And they go on to say that people complain about a leader's under communication are 10 times more likely to complain about a leader's under communication are 10 times more likely to complain about a

leader's under communication than over communication. And so it's just a simple reminder.

If you're in a position of leadership, lead people in any kind of relationship, communicate.

Communicate, communicate, communicate. It shows empathy. It shows that you care.

And if you think like you're over communicating, excuse me, communicate some more. So my question to you is,

who do you need to communicate with? Who do you need to convey your messaging to? Who do you need to

reiterate your purpose, your vision,

your values to? It goes a long way. And when you think you've done it enough, keep doing it.
