a paragraph from Paul Graham. He's a founder of Y Combinator and it's talking about ambitious people.

Here it is. Quotebitious people are rare.

So if everyone is mixed together randomly, as they tend to be in people's lives,

then the ambitious ones won't have many ambitious peers.

When you take people like this and put them together with other ambitious people,

they bloom like dying plants given water. Probably most ambitious

people are starved for the sort of encouragement they'd get from ambitious peers, whatever their age,

close quote. I really, really like that. It resonated with me a lot because I find, I find this to be true for myself,

at least. The people I am around will drive me, will push me. And I love being around ambitious

people, people who want to swing for the fences, people who want to create something great.

And I tend to struggle when I'm around people who are

not like that. Now, obviously, who are we to judge people? However, you can't neglect and you

cannot, you can't dispute how people, what people bring out of you. And so my question to you is, if you're ambitious, who are your other ambitious fountains

that you can surround yourself with?

Now, it may be other things that you really pride yourself on, other character traits

that you really value.

Essentially the question is, who are the types of people

you like to be around? And have you engineered your environment so that you're able to do that?

In some cases, you're not able to do that. You don't have the power or the authority to engineer

who's around you. Some people, just, it is what it is.

We've got to figure it out. But others, you do have power. You do have the control to surround
