As I record this, it's a recording, the Papers Podcast where we look at the day's papers in the UK, what they are covering, what they are saying.

And as always, I'll go straight to the front pages, beginning with the

Financial Times this morning. Kremlin spies set on sewing mayhem in Britain's streets,

MI5 Chief warns. Now, number of today's papers feature articles about Ken McCallum.

He's the Director General of MI5.

Yesterday he issued a briefing, did Ken, where he told us that ISIS is on the way back,

that Al-Qaeda is making a comeback.

Nostalgia ain't what it used to be.

See a voices of al-Qaeda. The Russians are plotting mayhem on the streets of the UK,

and the Iranians are plotting attacks here in the UK. McCallum said in the last couple of years,

20 Iranian backed even, I can never say that, 20 Iranian backed plots, yes, were foiled here, late stage plots, meaning that an attack was imminent, but in swooped

MI5 and the police to keep us all safe and snug in our beds. This is fear mongering. And it's more

than fear mongering. I got into it on yesterday's Richie Allen show during the monologue. I attempted

to explain at least how I see it. I'm not arrogant enough to believe I have the answers to

everything. I do not. But I have educated

opinions on these things. They've been doing this forever. Well, it seems like it anyway, but particularly

in the years post-September the 11th, telling us horror stories about sleeper cells of terrorists
