to recall the founding of our country and what it means to be an American since.

I really believe that you cannot teach American history.

Without talking about George Washington, the founders, and the events of 1776 and the

Revolutionary Agreement.

The United States wouldn't be what it is today without the Federalist papers, Thomas Payne's

Common Sense, the Constitution, and the Declaration of Events.

My guest today has a new book out about our uniquely American founding entitled, Land of

Hope, an invitation to the Great American Story.

I'm pleased to welcome my guest, Wilfred McLeod.

He is the GT and Libby Blankenship Chair in the history of liberty at the University of

Oklahoma and the Director of the Center for the History of Liberty.

My guest is Wilfred McLeod, somebody who believes passionately in America.
