press what does press mean it is to move or to cause to move into a position of contact with something exerting continuous physical force. He pressed his face to the glass. Exerting continuous physical force on something of an enemy or an opponent, attack persistently

and fiercely, their enemies pressed in on all sides, forced, forcefully putting forward an

opinion, a claim, or a course of action.

The word press is used as a noun to collectively refer to all the newspapers,

TV programs, radio shows, and other means of communication that make up the news media.

The people who work for organizations that produce these communications

are also referred to as the press,

the gathering and publishing of news. It's also known as journalism.

So when we look at all of these forces, we find that the press also refers to professional journalists and news organizations.

So when we gather, publish, or broadcast news, the newspapers and magazines of a country,

news reporters, and broadcasters are also referred to as the press.
