I am with my co-host Clem or is he? He might just be vengeance today. I might just be the riddler today because we are here to talk about the Batman.

Matt Reeves Batman. It is about 9 a.m. on Friday morning as we record this. I saw it last night. Apparently I'm not the biggest Batman fan on the

podcast anymore because Clem saw it Tuesday. I think I was way more jazzed about it than Clem was based on our instant reactions on Twitter. Clems you're really cracking me up with your Batman voice the entire time with yours and whatnot. I felt like I got to do something. I didn't have a Batman mask so I had to go with the Edward Nigma route. Although he's not Edward Nigma in this movie but we'll get into all that.

Yeah Rob you you wore a green bag on your head like an absolute lunatic and I talked like an absolute I can't do this the whole time. This is for the YouTube users. We were all masked up for the YouTube people subscribe to YouTube comment thumbs up all that kind of stuff. Keep the lights on in the basement.

But as I was going through my notes for the podcast obviously I said I think I said during my review I think I said seven out of 10 I the weird thing is Jose said just give me a number I want a number from each of you so I was like all right I have to go like a whole a whole round number so I said seven as I went through my notes and say it's an eight if I had to go just like a round number it's closer to an eight it's definitely not a nine or 10 but I don't think it's a seven it's definitely passing grade I liked it I think we'll get into some of the stuff liked loved didn't like all that kind of stuff.

But yeah I again just that's the thing is walking out of the theater that that's kind of the my favorite part about my mom's basement is we don't really have the stuff as soon as it goes live but like a few days digest stuff go on read the red it there's so much shit that I forgot that I liked in the beginning of the movie it was kind of they lost me a little bit in the middle and the end but all the rhythm stuff I loved and we're going to go kind of give you guys a heads up obviously in a lot of these shows we go you know recap and then thoughts recap and the thoughts.

Three hour goddamn movie we have to just got to hit like the both points for each character and you know the overarching sides of the film but again it was as dark as I thought we thought it was going to be both literally invigorably gritty emo all that kind of stuff for me I think it was like the the guy we like the realness of it but I think when you do that you do lose a lose a little bit of the traditional comic bookiness of it.

Whereas however I will say this and I said this to Jose I DM to my score after I went I said I think people that actually read the Batman comics and read like the comics that this is based on I got a free comic book as being the true Batman fan of the podcast I gave him out opening night on Tuesday night I was looking through it afterwards and I was like okay like this is a gritty or darker Batman I've heard of this kind of like you know that that's that a Batman I didn't read Batman as a kid like that I would read a couple of big arcs along the way but not just like the Batman.

It's also like that I'm not going to go along the way but nothing really crazy I feel like this is probably writing your guys wheelhouse I've heard about the long Halloween a billion times I've never read a word of it but I think that's kind of where in my mind I think especially I mean I fucking original key in one right that is straight out of the like the old school comic books in that sense.

But that's kind of where I landed when it's all said and done. I also heard that there's a four hour Matt Reeves cut

So hashtag release the Matt release the release the Reeves cut do it. No, I don't think that's true

Because I read an interview with Matt Reeves recently where he said explicitly like listen

There's a few scenes that didn't make it into the movie

But the the cut I put out is the cut. He's like there's no director

Really like this is the cut that I wanted to put out there

I mean they let him put out a three hour Batman movie that's long and drawn out and it's a slow burn

But I like those kind of movies. I was saying I hope it is like zodiac

I hope it is like seven and it really was like they fit in a lot

They fit in a lot of different storylines. I would probably go it was a nine out of ten for me
