I love setting goals and tracking goals and measuring how I'm doing on my goals. But I don't think

any of us can really dive into the

work of partnering with God to see fruit and growth in our lives until we know where we're at.

We can't steward our finances until we know how much money we have. We can't know which

relationships need investing and attention until we're honest about

how they're going. You've heard me say this already, but we can't even receive God's realistic

rest until we know what kind of tired we are. I think many of us sputter out of steam in the new

year, setting unrealistic and often unintentional goals

because we haven't first done the work of taking inventory.

I pray this episode is a gentle guide if you'd like to do some reflecting at the end of the

year or at the start of a new one.
