podcast with me, Richie Allen. Thank you for downloading it. I appreciate it. June 6th, of course, a red letter date in history, today being the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings at Normandy. And you won't be surprised. The front pages of the UK Dailys reflect the 80th anniversary. So I'll run through them as quickly as I can before we look inside.

The Express will start with, eternally in their debt is the headline.

Photographs of the veterans who travelled to France to commemorate today.

Under the headline eternally in their debt,

there is a picture on the express of 99-year-old veteran Peter Smoothie.

He landed on Juno Beach.

Well, he's standing on Juneau Beach in Normandy.

He looks well for 99, does the gentleman.

The Daily Mail is a photograph of Camilla, not my queen.

Veterans move the queen to tears at D-Day Ceremony as King pays emotional tribute tribute our eternal debt to the fallen heroes.

A lot of this today and yesterday they fought for our freedom.

There's a lot I could say right now, but maybe now is not the place to say it, so I won't,

except to say, I wonder, those young men who were sent to their death, Normandy, I wonder if they believed they were fighting

for the freedom of the world. And if so, what would they make of what came after the Second

World War?

And I don't necessarily just mean the last four years either,

but I mean everything that came after, the Cold War, Korea, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia.

I could go on and on and on.

What would they make of all of that, I wonder?
