And today folks, we are rewinding back to April 15th 2015. It just ended up working out that a lot

of the episodes that I selected for this week of rewinds were centered around the middle of 2015.

But today's episode was originally episode 1558, getting into cattle ranching on a shoestring budget.

And I interview a young man in this episode named Lucas Brannum, 32-year-old

out of Taylor'sville, Kentucky. And he had basically almost no money.

And he was able to go from that state to running some cattle. Now you might think, well,

how would he get land? Well, he leased it instead of worried about owning it.

He leased it and he was able to go to 14 head. And at the time we did this interview,

he had a plan in place and he was moving from 14 head to 30 head of cattle.

Now you're not going to make enough money to live the really great life on 30 head of cattle,

but you can do okay, especially if it's additional income, which it was for him. It wasn't a full-time

job. And I want to point out a couple things about today's episode. Number one, again, I want to

bring you lots of diversity this week. And I think I've done that. Number two, this is actually

the model that some of the most successful people in ranching and farming use. Joe Salad uses this

model. Greg Judy, who I have tremendous respect for, and I know as a personal friend, uses this

exact model. I think he owns like a couple thousand acres at the most. And I think part of it was

be it may be a couple hundred acres that he actually owns. But he's managing over 20,000 acres,
